Bellator Fighting Championships has named the last fighter for it’s upcoming season six bantamweight tournament.
Joining Marcos Galvao, Rodrigo Lima, Hiroshi Nakamrua, Luis Alberto Nogueira, Masakatsu Ueda, and Alexis Vila will be Jackson’s MMA Series fighter Travis ‘T-Train’ Marx (18-3).
Bellator will kick off season six this coming March on MTV2 with the winner of each eight man tournament earning $100,000 and a shot at the current champion.
News of Marx inclusion in the tournament was first reported by MMAjunkie.com, and was later confirmed by Sherdog.com. who also confirmed British fighter Ronnie ‘Kid Ninja’ Mann (21-4-1) as the first participant named to the season six featherweight tournament.
Marx is currently on a three fight win streak, all of which have occurred in 2011. ‘T-Train’ has won four matches by (T)KO, ten by submission and four by decision over his career. Marx is a former Utah Highway Patrolman, who now lives in New Mexico training as under the tutelage of Team Jackson-Winklejohn in Albuquerque.
Mann (pictured) fought for Bellator four times in 2011, going 3-1 in that time. The Brit participated in Bellator’s Summer Series Featherweight tournament, losing to Pat Curran in the semifinals by decision. ‘Kid Ninja’ had his last fight in October, earning a first round submission against Kenny Foster at the Oklahoma event.
