A season five heavyweight final between Bellator Fighting Championships Eric ‘The American Soldier’ Prindle (7-1) and ‘Big Monster’ Thiago Santos (10-0, 1NC) has been delayed another week.

Prindle has apparently come down with “flu-like symptoms” this week during his weight cut.

In a report from USAToday.com, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney informed them that the Louisiana Boxing & Wrestling Commission “suggested” the bout not take place today. The official announcement will be made today at the weigh-ins.

The two were scheduled to headline tomorrow’s Bellator 61 event from the Horseshoe Riverdome in Bossier City, Louisiana but will instead be replaced by a season six middleweight tournament bout between Maiquel ‘Big Rig’ Falcao vs. Norman Paraisy.

Prindle and Silva met last November in their season five tournament final, but an accidental kick to Prindle’s groin while he was on the mat in the first round left him unable to continue. Now both fighters will have to wait again, but instead of waiting three months to square off they will only have a week to wait.
