Fresh off a dominant win at Bellator 200, Michael Page will step into the boxing ring in mid-June.
Bellator MMA welterweight Michael Page will be fighting for the second time in three weeks, only this time he’ll be competing in the boxing ring.
Page is set to take on Poland’s Michal Ciach on June 15th at London’s York Hall, in a bout scheduled for four rounds. It’ll be on the undercard of a David Haye-promoted event headlined by 2016 Olympic silver medalist Joe Joyce (4-0, 4 KOs) against an opponent to be determined.
Last year, while Page didn’t have a single bout inside the Bellator cage, he did make his pro boxing debut, easily stopping Jonathan Castano by third-round TKO, much to the protestations of the Spaniard.
Bellator president Scott Coker has said that he has no problem with “Venom” Page wanting to box, but does want to see him more active in MMA. Page is coming off a dominant display against David Rickels at Bellator 200, as the Englishman made Rickels quit early in the second-round of a one-sided beating.
As for Page’s next boxing opponent, Michal Ciach is 1-5 (1 KO), and that one win came in his debut. He’s lost his last two by TKO, with one in March and the other in April. You can figure out how this one is supposed to end, and it doesn’t involve Ciach actually winning or providing much of a challenge.
