Bellator MMA is interested in signing Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson.

The promotion recently offered the former EliteXC and UFC fighter an opportunity to fight for them, however, Slice was not interested in what was presented, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. Middle Easy first reported the rumor on Monday.

“They had reached out to us,” Slice’s manager “Icey” Mike Imber told MMAFighting.com, “however, it was very informal and nothing has been decided.

“You know Kimbo is down to fight whenever. There’s actually a few options out there, so whatever makes most sense I think he’s gonna with.”

Imber would not disclose the other offers Slice is currently mulling over.

Slice turned 40 years old in February. He hasn’t had an MMA fight since his UFC 113 loss to Matt Mitrione in May 2010, however, he has gone 7-0 as a professional boxer since then. His last boxing match took place in Jan. 2013.

The former street-brawling YouTube sensation is 4-2 as an MMA fighter. He took the sport by storm in 2007 and 2008 when he debuted for the ill-fated EliteXC promotion. His fight against James Thompson on CBS in May 2008 stands as the second-most watched MMA event on U.S. network television.

According to sources, the potential new Bellator regime is interested in Slice, however, the idea to reach out to Slice came from the current regime.
