Bellator’s postponed light-heavyweight title clash between Christian M’Pumbu and challenger Attila Vegh has been reset for Feb. 28.
The fight, which was originally set to take place in December, had been pushed back due to a Vegh injury.
The bout, which was confirmed by the promotion in a press release, will take place at New Mexico’s Santa Ana Star Center. In releasing the news, no other fights were announced for the date.
M’Pumbu (18-4-1) originally captured the belt in May 2011 with a TKO over Rich Hale, but in October of that year, he lost a non-title match to Travis Wiuff. He didn’t fight during all of 2012.
Vegh comes in riding the momentum of an eight-fight win streak. He stormed through the most recent 205-pound tournament with wins over Zelg Galesic, Emanuel Newton and Travis Wiuff. He boats a 28-4 record.
While those two prepare to go to battle, in January, the promotion will begin its next light-heavyweight tournament, which includes entrants like “King Mo” Muhammed Lawal and Renato “Babalu” Sobral.
