Not every good Blackzilians prospect is on The Ultimate Fighter 21. Actually one of them is off to Bellator MMA.
Lorenzo Hood, a heavyweight slugger, signed with Bellator this week, the organization announced in a press release. Hood has been an MMA pro since 2009, but he’s still just 26 years old.
Hood (9-2) has won every single one of his fights by knockout in the first round. His lone two losses also came in the first round, though his last one in May 2014 was via doctor’s stoppage. Hood, an Illinois native, has won three straight in regional organizations.
“The Samoan Silverback” is aptly named — he’s 6-foot-3 and has to cut weight to make the 265-pound heavyweight limit. Hood is one of the best prospects in a typically thin heavyweight division.
TUF 21 is airing now on FOX Sports 1 and features up-and-coming fighters from American Top Team and the Blackzilians facing off for bragging rights and a $500,000 purse.
