We are in for treat at UFC 262 as Beneil Dairush plans to ‘out-crazy’ Tony Ferguson.

The plan for Beneil Dariush at UFC 262 is simple – ‘out-crazy’ the notoriously crazy Tony Ferguson.

Top-ranked lightweights Ferguson and Dariush will meet at a sold-out Toyota Center in Houston, Texas next month at UFC 262. “El Cucuy” is hoping to rebound after consecutive losses to Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira, whilst Dariush has won his last six UFC appearances.

Talking recently to the South China Morning Post, Dariush said he plans to counter Ferguson’s unorthodox fighting style with some unpredictability of his own,

“I’ve been joking about this. But I’ll tell you the same thing I told everybody else. The goal is to out-crazy Tony, so let’s see how that goes,” Dariush said. “You never know what he’s going to do. If that’s not exciting to you, I don’t know what is. You prepare the best you can but you do not know what he’s gonna do. You just don’t.”

Ferguson’s bizarre training methods, as entertaining as they may be, have led to huge success during his current UFC run. The former interim champion went unbeaten for five years winning 12 consecutive fights at 155 pounds.

“It makes actually training for him really difficult, too. Because, what I am going to drill? What am I going to focus on? I’m kinda enjoying this. It’s a freedom I haven’t felt in a while.”

UFC 262 takes place on May 15th and will be headlined by a vacant UFC lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler.
