Bobby Green is set for a quick turnaround, as he’s slated to face Beneil Dairush at UFC 222.
An important fight at 155-pounds is in the works for UFC 222.
According to a report from The Orange County Register, lightweights Beneil Dariush and Bobby Green are set to face each other at UFC 222, on March 3rd. The UFC have not yet confirmed the matchup.
The news comes quick for Green (24-8-1), as he fought last weekend at UFC on FOX 27. He picked up his first win in over three years defeating Erik Koch by unanimous decision. It was a win that “King” was in desperate need of, suffering three consecutive losses and a draw against Lando Vanatta at UFC 216 prior to beating Koch.
Dariush (14-3-1) has been away from the cage since October 2016, when he too was involved in a draw at UFC 216 against Evan Dunham. Being brutally knocked out by Edson Barboza with a flying knee before that, Dariush will be hoping to get back to winning ways, something he hasn’t done since beating Rashid Magomedov by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 98.
UFC 222 takes place on March 3rd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Max Holloway will attempt to defend his UFC featherweight belt against Frankie Edgar in the card’s main event. A heavyweight bout between Stefan Struve and Andrei Arlovski will serve as the co-main event.
