Take two for these two veteran UFC lightweights.
Hopefully there is no cancellation this time around for this battle between two veteran UFC lightweights.
MMA Fighting and Combate both reported that Beneil Dariush will take on Drakkar Klose at UFC 248 in Las Vegas on March 7th. The fight was originally scheduled to happen at UFC Sacramento in July, but Dariush withdrew from the contest and Klose was subsequently removed from the event.
Dariush (17-4-1) has quietly been on a three-fight winning streak, most recently submitting Frank Camacho in just two minutes at UFC Singapore. The talented grappler has also submitted Drew Dober and took a decision over Thiago Moises during this unbeaten run. It seems as if Dariush has been able to right the ship after a three-fight winless stretch that saw him lose by KO to Edson Barboza and Alex Hernandez, as well as draw Evan Dunham.
Klose (11-1-1) is 5-1 inside the Octagon, including a very entertaining unanimous decision over Christos Giagos at UFC 241. All of his UFC appearances have gone the distance, with only David Teymur able to get the better of him. Perhaps his best win to date was against Marc Diakiese, handing him his first professional loss back in 2017.
UFC 248 does not have a main event yet, although the co-main event is expected to feature a strawweight title bout between champion Weili Zhang and former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
