Arnold Berdon, husband of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight attraction Rachael Ostovich, was sentenced to four years probation after pleading “no contest” to second-degree assault in Hawaii Circuit Court.

That’s according to a report from Associated Press, which indicates that Deputy Honolulu Prosecuting Attorney Robert Rawson was seeking five years in prison. The judge appears to have been influenced by the “forgiveness” from Ostovich.

Berdon was arrested on charges of attempted murder late last year after assaulting his wife (details here). Those charges were eventually downgraded to assault, but a restraining order was granted not long before Ostovich filed for divorce.

The 28 year-old Ostovich is expected to retain full custody of the couple’s 6-year-old daughter, though Berdon will likely be grated supervised visits with the opportunity to receive partial custody after completing anger management and domestic violence intervention classes.

Ostovich last competed in January 2019, losing to Paige VanZant by way of submission.
