The opening round continues of our BE’s BADDEST Tournament Series to determine the single Greatest MMA Fight Of All Time — that one to watch before the world ends. Today’s matchup will see a set of Shogun Rua scraps go heads up. The blue corner’s #1 seed, Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio Shogun Rua 1 will square off with the #8 ranked Mauricio Shogun Rua vs. Little Nog 1.

In yesterday’s matchup, the #1 seed Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald 2 completely destroyed the #8 ranked, Yair Rodriguez vs. Korean Zombie, by a margin of 50-3. Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald 2 will advance in the tournament and face the upcoming winner of Israel Adesanya vs. Kelvin Gastelum VS. T.J. Dillashaw vs. Dominick Cruz.

Both of today’s fights were back and forth wars that went the distance. One of them with PRIDE Shogun in 2005 and the other involving UFC Shogun in 2011.

Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua 1 was an epic five-round war between two legends of the sport! There were lots of momentum swings in this one. Both men scrambled into dominant positions and rocked the other man, both men had to show off toughness and fight back, and both men had to dig deep keep going for 25 hellacious minutes. There is no question that these twomen left it all in the Octagon that night.

Mauricio Shogun Rua vs. Little Nog 1 took place at Pride Critical Countdown 2005. Knees to the head of a grounded opponent. Face stomps and soccer kicks. Both competitors getting wobbled. This well rounded fight had a little bit of everything that made PRIDE FC great. Well, except for yellow cards because this fight didn’t need them.
