We will be starting out in the red corner this week for our BE’s BADDEST Tournament Series to figure out what is the single Greatest MMA Fight Of All Time — that one to watch before the world ends. We are chugging along in our sweet-sixteen round, with only two bouts remaining before we hit the final four. As for today, we have the red corner’s #3 seed, Justin Gaethje vs. Michael Johnson, marching into battle against the #5 ranked, Cub Swanson vs. Doo Ho Choi.
Justin Gaethje vs. Michael Johnson is a thriller that took place at The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale on July 7, 2017. Gaethje got ahead on the strike count early in the fight, but Johnson put him on skates by the end of the opening round. Then, things got even more crazy in the second stanza! Johnson hurt Gaethje again, but when he was unable to get the finish, Gaethje rallied with a series of knees, punches, and pressure to win his UFC debut in style.
Cub Swanson vs. Doo Ho Choi was part of the UFC 206 PPV main card and happened on December 10, 2016. Cub rocked Choi. Doo Ho hurt Swanson. Both men left everything in the cage that night in a poetic display of heart and courage. These warriors were swinging even when their gas tanks ran dry, and their chins held up until the final bell. When the dust had settled, it was Swanson who took home the hard-earned decision.
