One FC returns to Manila with a bantamweight title fight.

Bibiano Fernandes, who got rid of the interim tag on his belt with a win over Soo Chul Kim in October, is set to headline One FC 15 card on May 2 in a title fight against Masakatsu Ueda at the SM MOA Arena in Manila, Philippines.

Fernandes (15-3), a decorated jiu-jitsu wizard and a former Dream featherweight and bantamweight champion, is 3-0 under the One FC banner with wins over Gustavo Falciroli, Koetsu Okazaki and Soo Chul Kim. He has three first-round finishes during his current seven-fight win streak.

After a disappointing performance in his Bellator debut in 2012, Ueda (18-2-2) went 3-0 in his return to Asia after winning One FC’s bantamweight tournament. A former Shooto featherweight kingpin, Ueda, holds victories over the likes of Eduardo Dantas, Royler Gracie, Jens Pulver and Rumina Sato in nine years as a professional fighter.

“Expect One FC: Rise of Heroes to be a night of explosive knockouts and exciting finishes as we return to the Philippines with probably the most exciting fight card ever,” One FC’s CEO Victor Cui stated in a release.

“The 10 bouts that are planned for the night will feature the biggest stars from the Philippines and around the world. These bouts set the tone for a blockbuster card that will keep fans from around the world on the edge of their seats.”
