Considering all the “sad” reasons UFC creates interim titles, this one isn’t that bad.
That’s because the heavyweight division will have to sit around and wait for Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier to wrap up their trilogy. That might take awhile, when you consider the promotion has to first A) navigate the current coronavirus pandemic and B) wait for Miocic to regain full vision in his wonky eye.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik has entered the chat.
“Fawaka Dana White! I heard you need a new main card for UFC 249,” the heavyweight contender wrote on social media. “How about an interim heavyweight belt? It’s about time! We’re ready!”
Fawaka translates to how you doing? or what’s up? according to Urban Dictionary.
Rozenstruik was expected to throw hands with Francis Ngannou at UFC Columbus; however, the coronavirus pandemic shut down that entire fight card and “Bigi Boy” — as well as “The Predator” — are hoping to rescue the still-tentative UFC 249 fight card.
With a little extra incentive for their efforts.
