The first ever UK champion knows more than a little about partying before fights, and shared his insight on McGregor’s recent night out leading up to UFC 303.

Michael Bisping isn’t worried about Conor McGregor’s recent late night party session six weeks out from his big comeback fight at UFC 303.

“The Notorious” shared a bunch of photos and videos from a wild Saturday night at the Black Forge Inn, the pub he owns in Dublin. They showed him dancing and partying with everyone, getting frisky with his fiancé Dee, and raging past 2 A.M. in the morning.

Many questioned whether this was the kind of behavior from Mac that would lead him to victory on June 29th against Michael Chandler. But according to former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping, it’s all good.

“Look, that’s not the ideal training camp scenario,” Bisping admitted. “But if he’s not doing it every night, I mean, he looks like he’s lost weight when he went on that live stream last week. You probably saw clips of it. He looks to be in really good shape. Looks like he’s slimmed down. He looks lean. He’s obviously been training. So, ideally [not great]. But, six weeks? He’ll be fine.”

“The Count” went on to suggest it’s passion like we saw from McGregor in the club that allows him to be the legend that he is in the cage.

“When you’re that kind of person, that kind of greatness, it’s like a juxtaposition,” he said. “You need that madness to be able to achieve. Look at Mike Tyson, look at Jon Jones, look at Chuck Liddell. Chuck Liddell was notorious for it. Do you know what I mean? Because you live on that edge. You’re not a regular person.”

“And so he can go out. He can have his top off in the pub and he can enjoy himself, and he can have a few beers and whatever bloody else he wants to do. As long as he shows up on weight, everything’s out of his system, and he’s ready to rock, God bless it.”

That being said, there was something very serious that Bisping was concerned about.

“On the flip side, there is a danger for Michael Chandler,” he said. “And that’s over-training.”

We’ll see come June 29th whether it’s Mac’s pub sessions or Mike’s gym sessions that prove to be the superior training regiment.
