Bisping claps back at McGregor for ‘one-eyed’ comment in GOAT rankings

Michael Bisping is more than willing to stack up his resume against Conor McGregor’s.

Michael Bisping and Conor McGregor do not exactly see eye-to-eye on McGregor’s pound-for-pound great list.

McGregor took to Twitter on Monday to share his list of pound-for-pound MMA greats. “The Notorious” one respectfully placed Anderson Silva at number one, slotting himself in close second. He placed soon-to-be Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre at number three.

“Much less array of finishes but champion status in two [divisions]. He is far behind though,” McGregor explained before elaborating on his reasoning. “Left 170 after much damage taken, plus [a] questionable decision. Never re-engaged 170-pound successors. Bottled Anderson fight. Only moved when one-eyed fighter presented. Played safe.”

That “one-eyed” fighter took exception with McGregor’s analysis. Bisping responded to McGregor, noting that he holds a win over Silva and, unlike McGregor, has successfully defended a world title.

“Well this one eyed fighter you speak of actually beat your number one, and he defended his belt so your logic doesn’t really add up,” Bisping retorted. “Anyway, have a good day. #facts.”

McGregor is a two-division champion at lightweight and featherweight. His most notable wins are arguably a first-round knockout of Jose Aldo, a majority decision against Nate Diaz, a second-round TKO of Eddie Alvarez and a 40-second TKO of Donald Cerrone. Bisping, meanwhile, is a former UFC middleweight champion with a first-round knockout of Luke Rockhold, and unanimous decisions vs. Silva and Henderson to his credit.
