Former UFC welterweight Diego Sanchez finally came to his senses and severed personal and professional ties with embattled coach Joshua Fabia, following many months of desperate pleas from colleagues and concerned citizens.

Unfortunately for “The Nightmare,” Fabia isn’t going away quietly.

For reasons not quite understood, the self-help guru recently embarked on a Sanchez smear campaign, tossing kids, mental health, and finances into his basket of dirty laundry. Not surprisingly, that tactic went over like a lead balloon.

“He’s come out and he’s talking bad about [Diego’s] character, he’s saying he has substance abuse issues, he’s saying that he’s broke, he’s making out that he’s a bad father, this guy really, really went off the deep end,” former UFC champ Michael Bisping told his podcast listeners. “It’s absolutely disgusting, it’s just shocking.”

Fabia came under fire for allegedly “manipulating” Sanchez over the course of several years, to the point where the promotion — fed up with stunts like this — was forced to release “The Nightmare” from his UFC contract.

“What this guy did to Diego’s career and to end up losing him his job and then for him now to come out and talk all this shit when Diego was so loyal to him and had his back and even cut off members of his own family and lost his place in the UFC that he had for a long time,” Bisping continued (transcribed by MMA Fighting). “And for him to come out there, do this, so quickly as well? It just shows this guy is a real piece of shit.”

Hopefully this is the last we’ve heard of Fabia.
