Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight contender Jan Blachowicz likes to touch the rope he found in a forest in his native Poland which at the time of its discovery, still had a dead body attached.
Ya’ know, for “good luck.”
“When you find a hanged man, you take his rope for luck, that’s what people believed in the old days,” police told Blachowicz when they arrived at the scene. “I checked the internet, and sure enough, that is exactly what people thought and believed in. If you don’t believe me, check for yourself. It actually has a 90-percent success rate since I started doing this.”
And here I thought sleeping in your opponent’s shorts was weird.
Blachowicz prefers to visit the rope instead of taking it home, probably because he saw that Brady Bunch episode where the family was stricken with bad luck after Peter decided to hang on to that tiki idol he found in Hawaii.
The power-punching Pole will need all the help he can get when he collides with No. 1-ranked contender Dominick Reyes at the UFC 253 pay-per-view (PPV) event later this month in Abu Dhabi, where the vacant light heavyweight title is up for grabs.
