Family affair?
Longtime UFC welterweight contender Nick Diaz is expected to end his multi-year hiatus and rejoin the world of MMA at some point in early 2021, following a mock weight cut to gauge whether or not the uncrowned king of Stockton is fit for a combat sports return.
Not surprisingly, fighters are coming out of the woodwork to throw their name into the Diaz hat, and now the sportsbooks are looking to get a piece of the action. So who will be the first opponent to step inside the Octagon against the former Strikeforce champ?
BetOnline.ag has the numbers:
Jorge Masvidal: 3/1
Robbie Lawler: 7/2
Conor McGregor: 4/1
Carlos Condit: 9/2
Mike Perry: 7/1
Darren Till: 8/1
Anderson Silva: 9/1
Diaz has already lost to Condit and Silva, but holds a knockout win over Lawler. His brother Nate, a former lightweight, scored a submission win over McGregor before coming up short against Masvidal, though a “Gamebred” rematch is reportedly in the works for next January.
Decent list I suppose … but no love for Stephen Thompson?!?
