Ray Borg has missed weight yet again.

UFC flyweight Ray Borg has made no excuses after missing weight by three pounds for his fight with Rogerio Bontorin at UFC Rio Rancho.

This is the third time Borg has missed weight at 125-pounds, he has also missed weight on one occasion at bantamweight. Borg’s bad luck continues with this weight miss as “The Tazmexican Devil” had six cancelled fights throughout 2018/19. Borg released the following statement on Instagram after missing weight on Friday.

“Wish I had an excuse but I don’t, my camp knows that this is the most disciplined I have ever been during camp, weight was good all camp and all week,” Borg wrote. “I stayed in contact with the crew at the UFC [Performance Institute] all week and followed all their protocols. The more we started cutting the less that started to come off, we were dedicated to making the weight and took the extra hour they gave us and did what we could with it.”

Ten months ago, Borg said he ever missed weight again due to anything other than a serious injury, he would leave MMA forever. It seems that won’t be the case as his opponent Bontorin has accepted the 128-pound catchweight and the fight will go ahead Saturday night.

UFC Rio Rancho takes place tonight, February 15th, at the Santa Ana Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. A light heavyweight rematch between Corey Anderson vs. Jan Blachowicz will headline the card.
