Check out the betting odds for this Saturday’s super middleweight unification bout between Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders.
The AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas will be the setting this Saturday night (May 9th) where the WBA, WBC, and The Ring super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez, returns to the squared circle to face the WBO champ, Billy Joe Saunders. Bloody Elbow is here to provide the betting odds for this historic unification bout, as well as for the undercard.
Surprise, surprise! Alvarez is a gigantic betting favorite here against Saunders. With a fat ol’ moneyline of -725, a winning $100 bet on Canelo would see a slim return of just $13.79, plus your initial $100 back. As for Saunders, he is sitting with a hefty underdog tag of +550. That means a successful $100 bet on the current WBO champion would see a return of $650 altogether.
The most common over/under for this 12-round affair has been set at 10.5 rounds. The ‘Over’ line is favored here at around -160, with the ‘Under’ holding an underdog value of +140.
The oddsmakers are torn on whether or not this one will be going the distance. Both the ‘Fight goes to decision’ and ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ options are listed at -120, respectively.
Naturally, that puts Alvarez’s inside the distance prop around the same line as his winning on points bet. The wager ‘Alvarez wins by KO/TKO or DQ’ is on deck at +120, with ‘Alvarez wins by decision’ clocking in at a slightly more lucrative line of +140.
