Welp, as if the year 2020 wasn’t weird enough, boxing odds have just surfaced on gambling site Bovada.lv for a potential matchup between recently retired Olympic Gold Medalist wrestler/two-division UFC champion, Henry Cejudo, and the 20-0 (17 KO’s) undefeated WBC Silver lightweight king, Ryan Garcia.

Naturally, the 21-year-old professional boxing champ is massively favored here with gargantuan moneyline of -1000. Cejudo, as expected, holds a hefty underdog line of +600, and in all honesty, this betting line could even be a bit wider than it is and would still make total sense. Cejudo is a world class athlete with wrestling chops of the highest magnitude, and his striking has come quite a long way from when he first started his MMA career — especially in his kicking game. However, he isn’t exactly known for having the slickest hands, or devastating punching power for that matter. That presents a major problemo if he hopes to best Garcia in a boxing match.

He may be a young buck in age, but the lethal puncher in Garcia has been boxing since the age of seven. I mean, he posted up an unusually lengthy amateur record of 215-15 before becoming old enough to turn pro, and that’s pretty crazy. By comparison, Floyd Mayweather had an amateur boxing record of 84–8, Manny Pacquiao had one of 60-4, and Canelo Alvarez left the ammy ranks at 44-2. Don’t let the baby face fool you. Garcia is world class and would undoubtedly have the edge in just about every single way possible — outside of maybe grown man strength, but even then Ryan still punches noticeably harder than Henry does.

With Cejudo claiming to be retired from the sport of MMA, will he crossover into the realm of the sweet science for the chance to win a world title in yet another sport? Well, if you’re looking to wager on this possible matchup, Bovada.lv states that the scrap must be a boxing match and happen in 2020 for action. It should also be noted that Garcia said that he would fight Cejudo, but is currently in negotiations to fight Luke Campbell, which could definitely hinder the chances of “Triple C” getting the fight he asked for.
