Now that Artem Lobov has proven himself as a legitimate threat against anyone in the “sweet science,” thanks to his bare-knuckle victory over former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi, the “Russian Hammer” is ready to take on another pugilist in the form of Amir Khan.
The idea was first proposed by Straight Blast Gym (SBG) Ireland head coach, John Kavanagh, as part of the Brave Combat Federation event being targeted for this November in the Kingdom of Bahrain, of all places.
Sounds like Lobov is on board.
“My last fight was called the event of the summer by Forbes,” the former UFC featherweight wrote on Twitter. “If you want BRAVE to make real waves in combat world I am your man!! Khan, Broner, Manny, whoever…..when I fight the world is watching!!!”
Maybe he means Amir Khan … the ONE Championship lightweight?
The British boxer, who medaled at the 2004 Olympics and went on to capture the WBA and WBC world titles, has yet to respond. That’s probably why “The Russian Hammer” threw in a couple of other big names for the Brave event.
A date for Lobov’s bare-knuckle return, meanwhile, has yet to be established.
