Carlos Diego Ferreira was suspended for using Ostarine after his unanimous decision win over Olivier Aubin-Mercier, on January 30.
Carlos Diego Ferreira will face a 12-month suspensio, retroactive to April 30, following a positive performance enhancing drug test after his unanimous decision win against Olivier Aubin-Mercier, on January 30.
As Tatame reported, Ferreira tested positive for a substance called Enobosarm, also known as Ostarine, which is used for muscle growth by cancer and osteoporosis patients.
Ferreira had his hearing last Tuesday, on June 21 and tried and appeal the decision, but it was to no avail as all judges found him guilty. Along with the suspension, he will have to present a clean test before he can perform again. He won’t be fined for the positive result.
Carlos Diego Ferreira (12-2) debuted in the UFC in 2014 and scored wins over Colton Smith and Ramsey Nijem. His two losses came at the hands of Dustin Poirier and Beneil Dariush.
His latest, win over Aubin-Mercier will most likely be overturned into a No Contest.
