The Octagon has not been kind to legs these past few months.

It’s been a rough couple of days for Ryan Benoit.

Not only did “Baby Face” lose his third straight fight, a unanimous decision loss to Zarrukh Adashev at the UFC Vegas 33 event last Sat. night (July 31, 2021) at APEX in Las Vegas, he also broke his fibular head and spent the night in the hospital.

“I’d still chase him around if we had more time to scrap!” Benoit wrote on social media. “Broke my fibular head (probably early in the fight if a rocket scientist had to guess). The hospital was very concerned about the swelling and possible compartment syndrome so they kept me overnight and they are still monitoring until tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the love and support.”

Benoit, 31, fell to 10-8 with his loss to “The Lion” and has yet to win back-to-back fights since making his Octagon debut in late 2013. “Baby Face” is just 3-6 under the UFC banner and needs to get something going — in a hurry — if he plans on sticking around.
