It took two years, but Costa finally got his wish.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight contender Derek Brunson, currently ranked No. 7 at 185 pounds, is looking for his fourth straight win at the expense of Paulo Costa as part of the UFC 256 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas.
“Has anyone seen or heard from Borrachina MMA? Someone ask him if he’s available Dec 12!” Brunson wrote on Twitter before tagging UFC president Dana White, along with matchmaker Sean Shelby and manager Ali Abdelaziz. “Someone make me a Brunson vs. Costa flyer!”
The fans obliged.

After getting smoked by Israel Adesanya back in late 2018, Brunson (21-7) rebounded with three straight wins, including last August’s technical knockout victory over Edmen Shahbazyan on ESPN.
As for Costa (13-1), he’s looking to bounce back after going down in flames to “The Last Stylebender” in the UFC 253 headliner late last month, and “The Eraser” recently promised to work his way back to a middleweight title shot.
Brunson sounds like a good place to start.
