Sorry, America, “Shara Bullet” is staying overseas.
Shara Magomedov scored his second UFC win yesterday (Sat., June 22, 2024) when he knocked out short-notice opponent Antonio Trocoli in the third round, picking up a $50,000 Performance of the Night from inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (watch highlights).
Ever since Magomedov was signed to the promotion, there has been much intrigue about him because of his flashy, striking, and unique look. Thus far in his UFC career, he has only fought in the Middle East, making his debut in Abu Dhabi at UFC 294.
Fans have wondered if he will be making his U.S. debut anytime soon, and on Sat., we got the answer: no.
“Can he [fight in America]? Probably not. We’ll keep him out here,” UFC CEO Dana White told the media during the UFC Saudi Arabia post-fight press conference (watch here).
MMAMania.com can confirm that Magomedov has secured a Visa to travel to the United States (because he is going to star in a movie).
However, because he fights with one eye, “Bullet” would struggle to get sanctioned to fight any U.S. state other than Texas or Florida, as they are pretty lackadaisical about that kind of stuff. (Those states were the only ones to sanction Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul and Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort.)
