Gilbert Burns can’t understand why Conor McGregor is still a ranked UFC fighter.
If Conor McGregor is retired, why is the Irishman still ranked #8 in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings and #4 in the UFC lightweight rankings?
The UFC didn’t hesitate to remove Henry Cejudo from the rankings after ‘Triple C’ retired earlier this year, so why not enforce the same rule for McGregor?
Those were the sentiments of top-ranked UFC welterweight contender Gilbert Burns, who will challenge Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title at UFC 251.
Cejudo retired they took him out of the rankings very quickly let’s do it with Connor as well!

“Cejudo retired they took him out of the rankings very quickly let’s do it with Connor as well!” Burns posted on Monday.
McGregor, 31, retired due to boredom and said there was a lack of interesting matchups available.
“I’m a bit bored of the game. I’m here watching the fight. I watched the last show — the [Tyron-Woodley vs. Gilbert Burns] show — I watched the show tonight. I’m just not excited about the game, Ariel. I don’t know if it’s no crowd. I don’t know what it is. There’s just no buzz for me.”
‘The Notorious’ last fought at UFC 246, where he disposed of Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in the first round.
Burns, 33, will take on Usman in the UFC 251 main event, which is set to take place next month, July 11, at the UFC Fight Island facility in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
