Gilbert Burns does not see how Colby Covington deserves to be ahead of him in the rankings after Woodley win.
Top welterweight contender Gilbert Burns does not agree with the latest update in the UFC rankings.
Following Colby Covington’s win over Tyron Woodley at UFC Vegas 11, ‘Chaos’ took the top contender spot on the list, which belonged to Burns up until now. However, ‘Durinho’ cannot understand why he was overtaken, since he also just defeated the former welterweight champion a few months ago.
On his personal Twitter account, Burns expressed his disgust with the update and questioned the decision to put Covington ahead of him. Furthermore, Gilbert asked Dana White for a contract to seemingly take on the current champion, Kamaru Usman, in his next outing.
U gotta be kidding me! I beat Woodley when he was N1, than Colby came watches my fight do what I did n now he ranks higher than me? He just beat the number 5 and a guy coming from 2 loses n without a soul!
Who does this Rankings? @danawhite send me the contract ASAP #AndNew pic.twitter.com/TqrqrMvqD5— GILBERT BURNS DURINHO (@GilbertDurinho) September 22, 2020
Currently on a six-fight winning streak, Gilbert Burns (19-3) defeated Tyron Woodley via unanimous decision in his last outing. Before that, ‘Durinho’ also picked up wins over notable names such as Demian Maia, Gunnar Nelson and Alexey Kunchenko. The 34-year-old’s last loss happened in July 2018, when he was knocked out by Dan Hooker.
Fear not though, Durinho. Dana White has already said you’re next, no matter what.
