Gilber Burns doesn’t think the UFC 251 main event will live up to the hype.
Gilbert Burns can’t help but feel that the main event of UFC 251 between Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal will not be as good as everyone is expecting.
Burns was supposed to face Usman in the main event of the card, but the Brazilian was forced off the card late last week after testing positive for the coronavirus. Thankfully, ‘BMF’ champion Jorge Masvidal stepped up to take the short-notice title fight against Usman.
Talking recently on a live chat, Burns shared his thoughts on the main event of UFC 251.
“I can’t wait for Saturday too,” Burns said. “I hope it will be a good fight but I just think it’s gonna be super boring that you guys [are] gonna miss me. I think it’s gonna be a boring fight Saturday.” (Transcription via BJPenn.com)
“I think Usman [will win] but I just think it’s gonna be a boring fight,” Burns continued talking about Usman vs. Masvidal. “I think it’s gonna be a very boring fight and you guys [are] gonna see what I can do with these guys. So, it is what it is. I’m good right now.”
UFC 251 takes place this Saturday, July 11th, on Fight Island, Abu Dhabi. In addition to Usman vs. Masvidal, Alex Volkanovski and Max Holloway will fight for the featherweight belt whilst either Petr Yan or Jose Aldo will be crowned the new bantamweight champion.
