Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns, currently ranked No. 6 at 170 pounds, will square off against No. 8-ranked contender Sean Brady atop the promotion’s “Fight Night” event on Sept. 7, according to MMA Junkie (first reported by (@MagicM_MMABets), though a venue and broadcast plans have yet to be determined.
Streaming on ESPN or ESPN+ (or both) seems likely.
Burns, 37, is looking to snap a two-fight losing streak after falling to Belal Muhammad (UFC 288) and Jack Della Maddalena (UFC 299). As for Brady, 31, he’s hoping to build on his submission victory over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Austin last December.
That’s not all.
The UFC event on Sept. 7 will also feature the featherweight fracas pitting Calvin Kattar opposite Kyle Nelson. The 36 year-old “Boston Finisher” will try to rebound from his UFC 300 decision loss to Aljamain Sterling, while Nelson, 33, aims to win his fourth straight.
Expect more fight card announcements for the Sept. 7 lineup in the coming weeks.
