It’s no secret that Ronda Rousey and WWE would be a match made it heaven.
But the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion has yet to realize her lifelong dream just yet. Despite reports that “Rowdy” is putting pen to paper for the world’s preeminent pro wrestling organization, executive vice president Paul “Triple H” Levesque insists no deal has been reached.
From his conversation with CBS Sports:
“It’s funny because every now and then I wake up and I look at either social media or the news and I see a report and it’s like, well, that’s news to me because I’m the one who would be having that conversation. Everybody is very busy and I know that from Ronda’s side and her team, they are looking for an opportunity. I have made it very clear that an opportunity exists and it’s just a matter of us getting together and having conversations. I wish I had something more to tell you than that but we are just kind of talking and feeling where it goes and she is making movies and doing other things.”
Like this.
“Rowdy” — who got her nickname from the late “Rowdy” Roddy Piper — is never coming back to UFC, according to this guy, in the wake of “easy” knockout losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.
Rousey has briefly appeared on WWE programming in the past and already has a built-in storyline with one of the promotion’s top divas. When and where she makes her debut in the squared circle — if at all — remains to be seen.
