Boxing superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has reportedly reached a settlement agreement with Golden Boy and broadcast partner DAZN, after filing a multimillion dollar breach-of-contract lawsuit last September (see it here).
That makes the four-time champion a free agent.
“In my role as manager and coach of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, I allow myself to communicate to the boxing community and to all our fans that starting today, November 6th, Canelo becomes a free agent, so we are ready to continue with his boxing career,” manager Eddy Reynoso wrote on Twitter.
Alvarez is currently in talks to make his in-ring return by the end of the year.
That’s according to a new report ESPN, which has Canelo targeting undefeated IBF super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweet Hands” Plant (20-0, 12 KOs), who fights for Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), though nothing is official at this time.
