Cynthia Calvillo’s long losing streak is over.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) contender Calvillo scored a big win last night (Sat., Sept. 7, 2024) at HEX Fight Series 32, when she scored a unanimous decision over bright prospect Lisa Kyriacou to win the HEX Flyweight Championship from inside Melbourne Pavilion in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Calvillo snapped her five-fight losing streak, and it was her first win in four years.
Unfortunately, the highlights for the fight are super limited, but there are still some below:

Calvillo was released from UFC earlier this year after missing weight for the third time, which caused her scheduled fight with Piera Rodriguez to be canceled. Before her weight miss, Calvillo lost five straight fights to Loopy Godinez, Nina Nunes, Andrea Lee, Jessica Andrade, and Katlyn Cerminara.
After her win, Calvillo wrote on Instagram, “After 4 years of setbacks, I finally felt this feeling again. This win means so much to me. #nevergiveup.”
At 37 years old, the likelihood of Calvillo making it back to the UFC is slim, but with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) creating a Women’s Flyweight division this year, that could be the move for the 13 UFC fight veteran.
