Both Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs are under the limit of 176 lbs for their mandated 30-day weigh-ins ahead of their May 4th showdown.

On May 4th, a massive middleweight championship unification bout is in store for fight fans to savor. WBC and WBA champion Canelo Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs) will take on IBF titleholder Daniel Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) in a highly anticipated clash between two of the best 160 lbs fighters in the world.

Because the WBC title is at stake, the sanctioning body has a requirement that fighters weigh-in 30 days, 14 days, and 7 days out from fight night. At the 30-day mark, neither man can weigh more than 10% above the contracted limit. In this case, both Canelo and Jacobs have to be under 176 lbs.

The 30-day weigh-in results are in, and Alvarez unsurprisingly was well under the limit at 168.2 lbs, whereas Jacobs was slightly under 176 lbs, coming in at 175.4.

New WBC rules require fighters be no more than 5% above the contracted weight at the 14-day weigh-in, and just 3% at the 7-day mark. Previously, the 5% stipulation was for the 7-day weigh-in, and the introduction of a 14-day weigh-in is new. Furthermore, this fight has special rules that neither fighter can weigh more than 170 lbs on same-day weigh-ins, scheduled for 8 AM.

Canelo vs. Jacobs will stream live on DAZN from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
