Former Bellator MMA Middleweight champion, Rafael Carvalho, will return to the promotion after he was released last year to take on Lorenz Larking on a week’s notice. The promotion recently announced the booking of the match up after Larkin’s original foe, Costello van Steenis, was forced out of the fight.
Carvalho — who ended his previous run with Bellator on a two-fight losing streak, losing four his last five — was originally lined up to headline LFA 107 on May 14, 2021, but that fight will no longer take place for obvious reasons. Carvalho’s return is only a one-time deal at this moment, according to MMA Junkie.
Larkin, meanwhile, has won four straight fights and is looking to break into the Top 10 with a win over the former 185-pound champion.
Bellator 258 will feature a Bantamweight title fight between division champion Juan Archuleta taking on Serio Pettis. After Yoel Romero was forced out of his Light Heavyweight Grand Prix fight against Anthony Johnson (details here), Jose August was pegged as a late replacement to take on “Rumble.” Also, Michael Page returns to face Derek Anderson in Welterweight action.
