Watch UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping roll with an ‘old friend’ on the mats.
Michael Bisping recently caught up with an old friend at RVCA Sport in Orange County, California, five years after their epic middleweight showdown at UFC 199.
That’s right, Bisping hit the mats with none other than Luke Rockhold, the man who he defeated via first-round KO at the Forum in Inglewood, California back in 2016 to become the first British champion in UFC history.
Once bitter rivals, Bisping and Rockhold appear to have put the past behind them as the latter gears up for his return to the UFC later this year.
Bisping posted footage of that session (watch here) on Instagram and, although the two may have buried the hatchet, both men were as competitive on the mat as ever.
“Catching up with old friends down at @rvcasport today. @parilloboxing @lukerockhold @sanabul,” Bisping posted.
Bisping, 42, retired in 2018 and was subsequently inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. ‘The Count’ and Rockhold are tied one apiece, with Rockhold previously submitting Bisping with a guillotine choke at a 2014 Fight Night event in Sydney, Australia.
Rockhold is expected to return to the UFC this summer, with the former middleweight champ looking to snap his two-fight losing streak against a TBA opponent.
