Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight and Bantamweight champion, Henry Cejudo, recently called out women’s champ-champ, Amanda Nunes, in a bizarre challenge that caught many off guard.
While a fight between a man and woman won’t ever happen, that still hasn’t stopped “The Messenger” from upping the cringe level, this time calling out women’s Flyweight queen, Valentina Shevchenko.
“Triple C” took to social media to lay down the gauntlet shortly after “Bullet” defeated Liz Carmouche in the main event of UFC Fight Night 156 last Saturday night (Aug. 10, 2019) in Montevideo, Uruguay.
“So I’m out here enjoying my beautiful Sunday in beautiful Las Vegas, but my phone just keeps blowing up; that somebody by the name of Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko is the most dominant champion in the world,” Cejudo said.
“And you know what? I get a little jelly because she has gold and I want that gold,” he continued. “Valentina Shevchenko, I have a message for you. I am looking to become the first-ever intergender champion that this world has ever seen. I’m calling you out. You can be the next to bend the knee to ‘Triple C.’”
Hey, the shtick could be worse.
Cejudo is currently in “Sin City’ rehabbing from his recent shoulder surgery that will keep him out for the remainder of the year. Upon his return, he will not be facing Nunes nor Shevchenko, as Aljamain Sterling or Petr Yan will be waiting for him once he’s ready to tango.
And let’s not forget about this longtime veteran, as well.
