UFC middleweight Cezar Ferreira is forced out of his March 16 bout, citing a knee injury.
Maybe the third time will be the charm for Tom Breese and Cezar Ferreira.
Originally scheduled to face each other in November 2018, the fight was scratched when Breese was forced out of the fight with an injury. Now, as the pair prepared for a second try on March 16, ‘Mutante’ announced on his Instagram that he had to remove himself from the card because of a knee injury.
“Hello, everyone, unfortunately I won’t be able to compete at UFC London on March 16. I injured my right knee and because of that I won’t be able to train for the next three weeks so, I won’t have enough time to prepare myself for this fight. I just want to apologize to all my fans and also my opponent, and soon I will be back stronger than ever thank you,” Ferreira said.
Cezar Ferreira (13-7) was on a two-fight winning streak, with victories over Nate Marquardt and Karl Roberson before the dropped an unanimous decision to Ian Heinisch in his last outing, in November 2018. So far, no replacement for Mutante has been announced.
UFC London will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal.
