Chael Sonnen would return to UFC to whip everyone’s ass, not fight dinosaurs like Vitor Belfort

While his manager is convinced a comeback is a foregone conclusion, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight title contender Chael Sonnen insists he’s fought his final fight in mixed martial arts (MMA).

However…

If he did make a return, it would be all or nothing. None of this “for the right fight” crap — Sonnen wants to kick the shit out of anyone and everyone who gets in his way.

That’s according to his conversation with Submission Radio.

“Well I would tell you this, [my manager] does believe that. He argues with me all the time, and it’s very playful, but he just tells it – I always tell him, ‘man my race is ran and I’m done,’ and he says, ‘yeah I don’t believe you. I think you’re going to come back. I know you’re in the gym, and blah blah blah’. So he is sharing his opinion. The only push back I would give is that he said “for the right fight”. Man, I’m not a bully, I’m not coming in to fight some dinosaur like, you know, Vitor, Rich Franklin. If I come back, I’m gonna whip all their asses – and I’m not coming back, but if I did, it wouldn’t be for the “right” fight. I would come back and fight anybody that fought me.”

Sonnen (28-14-1) turns 39 in just a few weeks.

Despite a couple of high-profile losses to Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, the UR FIGHT grappler holds some pretty impressive wins inside the Octagon, including finishes over Brian Stann and Mauricio Rua, as well as a unanimous decision against Michael Bisping.

Unfortunately, the recent lows overshadow the longtime highs, but there is certainly a way to change that…
