Alex Pereira isn’t giving up on his plans to move back down to 185 and take the belt of Dricus Du Plessis, especially after what ‘Stillknocks’ said about him.

Alex Pereira is reiterating his desire to move back down to 185 pounds and challenge Dricus Du Plessis for the UFC middleweight title.

Pereira didn’t waste any time after Du Plessis submitted Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia. He took a picture of Dricus celebrating, uploaded it to Instagram, and said ‘I’m coming down to 185 one more time.’

“Poatan” has a light heavyweight title defense against Khalil Rountree Jr. to deal with first on October 5th at UFC 307, but he seems very serious about another middleweight title fight. In a new Instagram message, he shared the photo of Du Plessis again with another message.

“I’m focused on my next fight and I’m going prepared but you never know what can happen,” he wrote. “So regardless of the result I want to go down one more time to the middleweight and go for the belt.”

“Hey Dricus, bring your will to fight me so you can prove that you are better than me, with your public statement it is easy to make this happen, Chama.”

That would be “Stillknocks” suggesting it was a bad idea for Alex to fight him considering Israel Adesanya knocked him out. If Izzy can do it, Du Plessis figures he can do it too.

Du Plessis is expected to face Sean Strickland next, but opened the door to fighting Pereira instead.

“Alex Pereira, you and you boyfriend Sean Strickland can have a domestic dispute on who gets slept first,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
