UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre was hit in the left eye in the second round of his title defense against Jake Shields, during last nights UFC 129 event at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. After the fight ended, and GSP was declared the winner, the French-Canadian apologized to the fans for his performance but noted that he was unable to see out of his left eye for most of the fight.
St-Pierre was absent from the post-fight press conference and was taken to hospital to have his eye checked. The champ posted that Tweet (http://twitter.com/#!/GeorgesStPierre) from the hospital, as well as a few other messages.
