JARAGUA DO SUL, Brazil — Charles Oliveira ended the decision streak at UFC Fight Night 36’s card on Saturday night, and he did it in impressive fashion.

“Do Bronx” put on a grappling clinic on Andy Ogle in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil, and finally got the win in the third round, when Ogle couldn’t get away from a tight triangle choke.

“I came for the knockout and I almost got it, but I did what I do best and submitted him,” Oliveira told the media after the fight. “The ‘you’re gonna die’ chant gets into your head, man. I went there like ‘ok, let’s kill this guy’.”

Ogle managed to escape from several submission attempts early in the fight, but couldn’t escape from the triangle in the last round. Oliveira thought he was “too slippery.”

“I’ve seen his fights before and he’s tough, has good submission defense,” he said. “I thought he was too slippery. I don’t know if he had something on his body. I’m not sure, I can’t say this, but he was too slippery. But thanks God I was able to lock the triangle a get this wonderful victory.”

After a much needed win, Oliveira vows to “beat everyone they put in front of me,” and has a couple names in mind as future opponents.

“2013 was a tough year for me,” he said. “I fought injured, lost fights I wasn’t supposed to lose, but my family and teammates helped me a lot to overcome.

“I want another opportunity against Cub Swanson. I was injured in that fight, it wasn’t my night. And I’m sure I’ll have another opportunity against Frankie (Edgar). I know that, and I will avenge those losses.”

Swanson beat Oliveira by first-round knockout back in 2012, and Edgar defeated the Brazilian ten months later at UFC 162.

Back to the win column, Oliveira expects to earn a shot at the gold early in 2014. To make it happen, he wants to go 4-0 in 2014.

“I want to fight again in two or three months,” he said. “I want three more fights this year. Who knows, maybe I’ll have my shot at the title early next year.

“I’m in the UFC to fight anyone. I deserve to fight a top 10. I know I still have a lot to do to get to a fight with Jose Aldo, but I’ll get there one day. No one is unbeatable. There’s no super hero in MMA. He didn’t clean out the division.”
