UFC Fight Night 135: “Gaethje vs. Vick” comes to Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., on Aug. 25, 2018. Headlining the FOX Sports 1-televised card that is a pair of Lightweight contenders as No. 7-ranked Justin Gaethje (18-2) squares off with No. 11-ranked “Texecutioner” James Vick (13-1) for five rounds (if necessary).
Earlier in the night, a pivotal Bantamweight fight will pit “Cool Hand” Luke Sanders (12-2) against Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Rani Yahya (25-9, 1 NC) in a contest that could put either within striking distance of their division’s rankings. Yahya has won six of seven bouts dating back to 2014, while Sanders recently rebounded from a two-fight skid with a big win on Gaethje’s last UFC card.
Sanders can’t afford to take the veteran Yahya lightly, but that didn’t stop the Nashville native from taking a little time out of his schedule for a special appearance. Grammy Award-winning Christian rap star Andy Mineo needed someone to be his “opponent” in the music video, “I Ain’t Done,” and Sanders was “Cool” enough to get the nod.
