Khamzat Chimaev may be far away from a title shot, but he’s made it clear to Israel Adesanya he will eventually pay for his words.
Breakout UFC star Khamzat Chimaev has warned Israel Adesanya that his ‘rat lip’ comments will eventually come back to bite him.
Adesanya recently told Yahoo Sports that he “doesn’t know” who Chimaev is and has never seen him fight before. The UFC middleweight’s champion’s comments touched a nerve with Chimaev, who replied to “The Last Stylebender” on Twitter.
@stylebender what do you said about me it will cost you your belt if you’re still the champion Good luck

“What do you said about me,” Chimaev wrote on Twitter, “it will cost you your belt, if you’re still the champion. Good luck.”
Chimaev (9-0) has taken the UFC by storm in just a matter of months, winning three fights in the space of just 66 days. “Borz” has absorbed just two strikes in his three UFC wins, beating Rhys McKee by TKO. Gerald Meerschaert by KO and John Phillips by submission.
The Russian alternates between middleweight and welterweight for his fights, so it’s no surprise to see Adesanya’s comments have caught his attention. Chimaev is reportedly facing former welterweight title challenger Demian Maia at a UFC event in November.
On the other hand, the undefeated champ Adesanya (19-0) has his sights focused solely on Paulo Costa, as the two will fight in the main event of UFC 253 this Saturday night as the promotion returns to “Fight Island.”
