Chris Camozzi was getting close to the top of the middleweight division with four straight wins in the UFC, but a pair of losses pushed him down the ladder. The American will try to return to the win column on July 5, as he takes on Brazilian middleweight Bruno Santos at UFC 175.
UFC 175 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev., and is headlined by Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida for the middleweight championship.
Camozzi (19-7) enters the bout on a two-fight skid, with losses to Ronaldo Souza and Lorenz Larkin. Prior to the losing streak, he scored wins over Nick Ring, Luiz Cane, Nick Catone and Dustin Jacoby.
Santos (14-1) signed with the UFC after racking up a perfect record in regional promotions in Brazil, and a win under the Bellator banner, but he came up short in his Octagon debut against Krzysztof Jotko in December via unanimous decision.
UFC 175 also features a bantamweight title fight between Ronda Rousey and Alexis Davis, and the anticipated clash between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen.
