Tito Ortiz is Mayor Pro Tem of Huntington Beach and to call his current tour of duty a shit show would be an insult to shit (as well as shows). That’s probably why the City Council is attempting to vote the former UFC champ out of office.

No confidence — and no honor and dignity, either.

“Mr. Ortiz has failed to perform at the level expected for this position and has demonstrated little commitment to serving in the role with honor and dignity,” the letter wrote. “His unprofessional demeanor and poor judgement have raised concerns among residents, local business owners, and his fellow council members. The Huntington Beach community expects local elected officials to take their governing responsibilities seriously and we whole heartedly agree.”

Ortiz, 46, was elected back on Dec. 7.

Most of the controversy surrounding the MMA pioneer can be attributed to his refusal to wear a mask in public, which has not only drawn the ire of his fellow councilmen, but also the citizens of Huntington Beach, leading to some very awkward encounters on the street.

The upcoming vote could settle that once and for all.
