Strawweights Claudia Gadelha and Nina Ansaroff will meet in Toronto, Canada.
A pair of strawweight fighters was added to the upcoming Toronto card. The UFC announced on Wednesday that former title challenger Claudia Gadelha will take on rising contender Nina Ansaroff at UFC 231.
Claudia Gadelha (16-3) will look to make it two in a row after defeating former strawweight champion Carla Esparza by split decision back in June. The split decision win came after a unanimous decision loss to Jessica Andrade in September 2017.
Currently on a three-fight winning streak, Nina Ansaroff (9-5) has defeated Jocely Jones-Lybarger, Angela Hill and most recently Randa Markos in July. However, her start in the UFC wasn’t the best one, dropping losses to Juliana Lima and Justine Kish in her first couple of Octagon bouts.
UFC 231 is set for December 8th at the Scotiabank Arena. Although numerous bouts featuring Canadian fighters have already been added to the card, the event does not have an official main event as of yet. It is believed that a featherweight title between Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega will happen on this show.
