The UFC is currently discussing CM Punk’s UFC return, and it is being targeted against Mike Jackson in Chicago.
Former WWE superstar turned MMA fighter CM Punk will be getting a second chance in the UFC. To make things more interesting, his return fight after a subpar UFC debut is reportedly being planned to take place in his hometown and broadcasted on pay-per-view.
On Wednesday, MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani reported that the UFC is currently in discussions to finalize Punk’s second UFC fight against Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in Chicago. Helwani’s report adds that the talks are still in its “early stages”, and a final decision is far from being made.
The 39-year-old Punk (0-1) last set foot inside the Octagon at UFC 203 in September 2016, where he lost to Mickey Gall via first-round rear-naked choke. Jackson also holds the same win-loss record and lost the exact same way to Gall seven months earlier.
UFC 225 is being slated to take place on June 9th at the United Center. No other bouts have been set for the card as of yet.
