The one thing I like about World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is that triple-threat match, so that when you have three marquee names, you can just throw them into the ring and see what happens.
Maybe we can do that with Georges St-Pierre, who apparently wants to come back for “epic” fights against the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr., who may or may not be transitioning to mixed martial arts (MMA), or reigning lightweight kingpin Conor McGregor.
“I think Georges is gonna get better, get back in the gym,” coach Firas Zahabi told TSN (via MMA Fighting). “He’s gonna feel his body out and see what he wants, what’s the most interesting, epic fight out there. Mayweather? McGregor? We need a mega-fight. Georges will come back for a big, exciting fight.”
Not sure I find a Mayweather fight exciting, especially after most combat sports fans shelled out $100 for this laugher.
St-Pierre surrendered his middleweight title earlier this month after losing a mega-fight with colitis, the second time he’s walked away from a strap in his storied UFC career.
In his absence, Robert Whittaker becomes 185-pound champion and defends against Luke Rockhold. McGregor, meanwhile, is still missing in action and Mayweather is doing … whatever it is “Money” does.
